It is a process of transplanting existing healthy hair into parts of the head where hair is less common and does not respond to any other treatments and methods of healing and compression. Currently, hair transplantation is a very popular procedure since 1900; it becomes an increasingly specialized health procedure, which is carried out with high-tech professional equipment.

What methods apply to hair transplants?

The old method is called FUT, and an increasingly preferred one called FUE. It was discovered in 2004. It was originally done with a pen-like device that was placed in the skin at the depth of the root of the hair, and the follicular units were extracted one by one. As this takes a long time, the procedure is already done by a sophisticated robotic system that not only gains time, but also reduces the risk of follicular injury and provides greater patient comfort.

Who can undergo hair transplantation procedures? Who can do this? Where is it good to undergo such an intervention?

Hair transplantation should be performed on patients who are approved by a specialist. Opinions that patients make for themselves are not enough. The operation must necessarily be performed in an operating room. The operation team should be composed of a specialist and the required number of nurses and anesthetists.

Anyone who has a hair loss problem is suitable for hair transplantation?

Unfortunately, no … It is good to be informed that you may be refused to undergo this procedure for hair transplantation if it is shown by your medical examination and hair analysis that you are not suitable for undergoing such an intervention. In such patients, we can mainly recommend medical treatments such as mesotherapy for hair, thermotherapy, and home care products. Sometimes, according to the list of recommendations, we prescribe a medical shampoo that is most suitable for the condition of the patient.

What are the things that patients should be careful about after they decide to undergo a hair transplant operation?

Patients need to do a detailed study and choose the right place and time. Once they have done the necessary research, patients should visit a primary care physician. If conditions are suitable for hair transplantation, patients should share their idea with their loved ones and friends. The approval of parents, spouses and children can be particularly reassuring to patients. After the hair transplant operation, the patient should regularly visit his doctor and strictly follow his prescriptions.

Can hair transplantation be done to women?

Of course he can. Each of ten patients undergoing hair transplantation is a woman. And today, through a special method that is applied for the first time in the world, hair transplantation can be performed on women without trimming their hair through the FUE method.

Can you tell us about the hair transplant process?

Above all, it is extremely important to plan every detail related to transplantation – the number of grafts, their distribution, the hairline, the number of sessions, the necessary blood tests and research, etc. You should be photographed from different countries and draw a scrappage chart on the scalp, then take pictures again. Anesthesiology consultation is also an important part of the preparation of all patients. Expert review is required as well as tight control throughout the operation. In the morning, a blood test is done.
To avoid pain in any of the treatment areas, you will be given a local anesthetic. When the follicular units are extracted, the anesthetized zone expands with a special fluid. This allows the robotic system to grab the grafts more easily and increase the number of grafts. It is possible to seize about 1000-1500 roots per hour, with each patient individually.
To graft the grafts, the hair channels in the area where the transplant will take place open. The hair growth angle should be carefully examined by an aesthetic specialist to make hair look as natural as possible. Approximately about 2500-3000 transplants are transplanted within one hour, during which time the patient can listen to music or watch TV.
The final stage occurs when the roots removed in the first phase are implanted into the channels opened in the second phase. The grafts were pre-placed in a special fluid container where they were stored in a sterile environment. When grafting is implanted, it is extremely important to follow their order so your hair can get the most natural look. The grafts are grouped into one, two and three hairs. The single ones are placed in the front line of the hair, and the doubles and triplets in the rear, with the opening of fewer channels. This is the natural look of any hair. Transplantation is usually performed by two or even three specialists so that grafts can be implanted as quickly as possible after removal from the sterile environment. 3 weeks after surgery, grafted hairs begin to fall by leaving their roots in the scalp, in fact, this is a “separation” process. Hair begins to grow 90 days after transplantation. Approximately 8-10 months you will have new hair!
With successful procedures only 3% of the grafts do not grow.

What are the things for which patients should be careful after surgery?

The night after surgery and the next day, the patient should rest at home and lie down. The first night you may experience difficulty sleeping. It is important to lie on your back and make sure that areas where grafted hair has no contact with anything. You need to put ice bags on your forehead and in the area around your eyes to prevent edema. Patients should avoid any contact with the transplant hairs. It is necessary to wear a hat when going out for about two weeks.

The first washing of the hair should be in the clinic under specialized control. This must happen for at least 24 hours and a maximum of 72 hours after surgery. In the areas where hair is grafted, a softening lotion is applied, and then a special medical shampoo on all hair. This process has to be done very carefully, after which the hair is very tender. Preferably, the graft area is cleansed with ampoule rifampicin or an antiseptic solution for the first 3 days. In the next few days, you should wash your hair daily with a special medical shampoo, and 15 days after the transplant, if you wish, you can return to the usual hair wash frequency.
Though the serum that is overflowed during the operation, all the necessary drugs are obtained to avoid pain and discomfort, they are not enough to prevent after all procedures have been completed. Therefore, additional antibiotics (5-7 days), analgesic and anti-inflammatory (1-3 days), anti-edema medications (4 days) and antiseptic drugs (3 days) are listed.

Do Patients Feel Some Pain?

The procedure for hair transplantation is done with a local anesthetic. Thus patients feel no pain. They can take painkillers after the surgery, and it will take a few hours.

Will there be any scarring or thinning of the hair on the back of the neck when removing the hairs?

The operation performed using the FUT method leaves behind the back of the neck. But under the new FUE method there will be no such problems. Since the roots are removed in a special ratio, thinning of the hair will be imperceptible.

When implanted hair begins to grow, is it constant?

The first two weeks after surgery, patients should wash their hair every day. At the end of the second week grafted hairs begin to fall by leaving their roots inside the scalp. Around the beginning of the third month, the planted hairs begin to grow and become visible. 40% of hair grows between the fourth and the sixth month, 60% grow between the sixth and the eighth month, and 90% in the eighth-tenth month. It took the patient for about one year to see the full effect of the hair transplant procedure.

What are the factors influencing the growth of transplanted hair?

The right patient and the right place … If a hair transplant is performed on a patient who is not suitable for such an intervention, the result will not be good. The result will not be good if you put the surgery in a place that does not offer the necessary conditions and a competent team. The right patient, the right team, the right place …

Is it possible to have recurrent medical intervention after the transplant has already been done?

People with serious balding problems may need more than one session. In this case, it is good to wait 8 months until the next hair transplantation.

Beard Transplant:

Beard has a great influence on identity. It is an expression of our way of life, our radiance, and our psychology. Beard transplantation is a cardinal solution to problems arising in the absence of beard or conditions associated with wounds, burns, etc. In the beard transplant, the roots separated from the donor area are transferred to the selected one. In the FUE method, hairs are taken from healthy and unaffected donor portions.

Eyebrow transplantation:

The eyebrows are the end of the general appearance. With the eyebrow transplant, the tired look is removed. The main cause of eyebrow balding is not clear. Nevertheless, nowadays, eyebrow transplantation is lost, lost due to illness, accident or misdirected depilation. Follicles are extracted from the skin of the donor area showing the highest degree of similarity to the eyebrow construction to maximally achieve a natural end.

Mustache Transplant:

Mustache transplantation is particularly popular in the Middle East, where mustaches are valued by men as a symbol of mature age and masculinity. Only specialist doctors can take this procedure, which takes two to four hours. Donor hair is usually taken from the back of the scalp as it most closely resembles the texture of the beard. After the pain in both areas, the doctor takes grafts from the scalp and transplants them into the face area. This is achieved with high precision as the doctor has to place the hair in the direction of beard growth. Transplanted hair will fall for approximately one month, after which new roots will begin to grow within about three months. It takes about one year for full hair growth. After the transplant, it is possible to shape your beard at your choice and taste.
